Apply and verify your ID

1. Open the campaign in Sampo and tap Apply.
2. Quick check: Confirm your phone is supported, then answer a few questions about your age, where you live, recording standing up, your housemates' OK, and what not to film. You need to answer Yes to all of them to continue.
3. Terms & consent: Read the key points of the campaign terms and the privacy consent. Type your full name to sign.
4. ID verification: Take a photo of your ID, then a selfie.
   • Use a passport or driver's license.
   • If your card shows a national ID number, cover it with your finger or a piece of paper before you take the photo.
   • We don't keep the ID images. We only record the result, like your name and date of birth.

Common issues

• Glare makes the ID hard to read. Retake the photo in a bright spot, angled so light doesn't reflect off the card.
• "This identity is already linked to another account." Each person can have only one account. Sign in with the account you used before.

Training and quiz

Before you start, a short training covers the recording rules. It takes about 5 minutes.

1. Read the recording rules. See Recording rules and what not to do.
2. Watch the training videos. There are 8 short clips that compare good and bad examples.
3. Take the quiz. It has 5 multiple-choice questions.

• Answer all 5 correctly to pass.
• If you get one wrong, read the explanation and try again. You can retake it as many times as you need.
• When the rules change, we may ask you to take the training again.

Test recording

Before your real recordings, you'll send one test recording in the Sampo app. This lets us check your setup. First, a 10-second practice clip shows whether your hands are in the shot. Then you record the test itself.

1. Pick one of 3 tasks: washing dishes, hanging laundry, or vacuuming.
2. Record a 10-second practice clip.
   • Tap the record button.
   • During the countdown, put your phone in the head mount so the THIS WAY UP → arrow points up.
   • Start the chore when you hear the beep. Recording stops after 10 seconds.
   • When you hear that recording is done, take the phone off and watch the clip.
   • You're good if both hands and the chore show up in the lower half of the screen. If not, adjust the angle and try again. What matters most is that your palms, fingers, and wrists stay in the shot the whole time.
   • The practice clip isn't saved or sent.
3. Record the test (1–2 minutes).
   • Tap the record button, then put the phone in the head mount during the countdown.
   • Start the chore when you hear the beep. Do the chore for 1–2 minutes, then stop recording.
   • When you hear the voice prompt, take the phone off.
4. Check the video and send it. We'll tell you the result within 24 hours.

Tip: The app signals the start with a sound and a vibration. Turn your volume up so you can hear it.

Results

• Passed: You can go on to sign up for Minute Data. See Use the Minute Data app.
• Re-record: The app shows you why. Fix it and record again. You can retry as many times as you need.

About test recordings

• We use test recordings only to check your setup, and delete them 1 day after review.
• Test recordings don't earn points.
